Washing of the HealthSmart™ Bed is possible because of the zip-off
mattress top design and the materials used in its construction.
The HealthSmart™ Bed is made with three layers of fabric, each
serving a specific purpose in the creation of a healthier sleep
environment:

Coolmax® channeled fibers wick away sweat and moisture
as you sleep and allow fabric to dry quickly in the laundry.
Nano-Tex™ creates a virtually impervious layer that traps fluids
and particles so they can be washed away.

Using a mattress pad with the HealthSmart™ Bed
is your choice. Because the removable top is designed to trap fluids

HealthSmart™ Bed Replacement Tops are now available online. At
this time, all HealthSmart™ Bed Replacement Tops available for order
through the online store are produced with a single type of panel fabric.
Therefore, the replacement top may not match the original top exactly.
Yes. Simmons reserves the right to deny warranty coverage on a HealthSmart™ Bed
component that is stained or soiled. Stains on one component only pertain
to that component. See the Warranty section for
more details.
Each claim will be considered on a case-by-case
basis. In general the top will need to experience a considerable amount
of shrinkage to justify replacement. The mattress will not be replaced
due to issues with the top. See the Warranty
section for more details.
The removable tops are available in 3 different thicknesses that refer
to the weight of fiber used as the filler material. The thickness of
the top does not define the comfort level of the bed. Because the quilting
and upholstery layers determine the comfort level of the bed, the thicker
tops are a step up to the luxurious feel of the bed.
The model name label for all HealthSmart™ Beds
includes the thickness designation of the top after the model name. For
example - Haverville™ Luxury Firm 1X. The model name label is sewn into
the lower right side of the HealthSmart™ Top.
At this time, Simmons manufactures HealthSmart™ Beds
with a specific thickness of removable top. Higher end models will have
thicker tops as part of the luxury step-up within the line. Please see
you local dealer for information on models available in your area.
All thicknesses of HealthSmart™ Bed Tops are
compatible with any HealthSmart™ Bed model of corresponding size (Twin,
Full, Queen, Olympic® Queen, King, Cal King). You may order any thickness
you would like.
The HealthSmart™ Bed consists of three separate components.
The removable HealthSmart™ Bed Top.
The mattress.
The foundation.
Each component has special provisions to its limited warranty.
Only defective components will be replaced.
Replacement of one component by Simmons does not guarantee replacement of either remaining component.
Because each component has unique warranty provisions, consumers must file separate claims for each component of the HealthSmart™ Bed in question.
Claims filed on one component do not void or alter the warranty on either remaining component.

Will not replace tops due to normal wear and tear.

For health and safety reasons, Simmons may not be able to inspect these products to assess whether covered by the warranty.
Simmons will not replace tops that are damaged due to improper laundering by consumers and professional cleaners.
Improper washing includes:
Washing and / or drying without zipping the top like a sleeping bag.
Washing the top with cover fabric facing in rather than out.
Washing tops in machines of incorrect capacity as outlined in wash instructions.
Washing tops in an overloaded or unbalanced machine.
Washing tops in any cleaning product other than standard laundry detergent and/or bleach.
Washing tops in a manner not recommended by detergent/ bleach manufacturer's instructions.
Simmons will not replace tops that experience shrinkage, so long as the top can still be zipped onto the mattress.
Consumer Service will consider degree of shrinkage on case-by-case basis.
Tops must fit tight across sleep surface to prevent shifting during use.
Simmons will replace the top if the zipper attached to the top has a noticeable and/or visible manufacturer's defect.
Simmons will replace the top if the stitching that holds the zipper to the top unravels during washing within the first year provided all wash instructions were followed.
Simmons will not replace the top if it becomes damaged during the act of zipping or unzipping.
Simmons will not replace the top if it becomes snagged or pulled by zipper teeth while removing from or reattaching to the mattress.
Simmons will not replace any HealthSmart™ Bed Top due to staining.
Because our claim states that fluids and particles can be washed from the top "just like when you clean your sheets," we do not guarantee that all stains will absolutely wash out.

Washing instructions are printed on the back
of the model name label sewn to the lower right side of the HealthSmart™ Bed

The HealthSmart™ Bed Top must be washed separately.
This will prevent damage to the top from other items that may snag or
tear the fabric. Washing separately will also prevent the washing machine
from becoming overloaded.
All sizes and models of the replacement top may be dry-cleaned,
commercially laundered or machine-washed in a larger capacity front
load washer at home.
Only the following sizes and models of the replacement top may be
machine-washed in a larger capacity top load washer and larger capacity dryer at home:
Model 1X: Twin, Twin XL, Full, Full XL, Queen, Olympic® Queen,
King, and California King
Model 2X: Twin, Twin XL, Full, and Full XL

Unzip and remove mattress top.
Fold the mattress top in half lengthwise with the top
of mattress facing out.
Zip the mattress top closed, like a sleeping bag.
Wash Separately.
Place folded and zipped mattress top into washing machine.
Zipping up the top like a sleeping bag will
prevent the zipper teeth from snagging or tearing the fabric during the
wash and rinse cycles. Damage due to improper washing is not covered
by the HealthSmart™ Bed Warranty. See the Warranty
section for more details.
Following standard warranty claim process,
Simmons will send a claims inspector to test the zipper with a different
top. Once the inspector determines which component has a defective zipper,
Simmons will replace that component only. Simmons will only replace both
the mattress and top in the event that both parts of the zipper fail.
Each claim will be considered on a case-by-case
basis. If the fabric from the mattress or top is caught in the zipper
teeth and jams the zipper, Simmons will not replace either component
due to consumer mishandling. If the zipper itself is proven defective,
Simmons will replace the defective component.
